As a result of McCoy's departure, the Board of Directors of the US governing body were able to offer an "at large" position after evaluating its structure.

They were also able to replace McCoy directly.

Over the last year, the Board of Directors and the National Office have been shifting focus to become a more "athlete centered" organisation.

This means ensuring that the choices it makes as a Board are improving the experience of players at all levels, and particularly their overall development.

The NWBA welcomed both Waller and Fox to their positions at the table as they work on strategies to execute the NWBA’s plans.

The Board is composed of seven elected positions and six at-large positions, with two of the at-large spots needed to be filled by individuals who are independent from the NWBA.

Waller has agreed to accept the at-large position on a two-year term.

“In our interview with Will, it was obvious that he has a passion to make our organisation better," said Sarah Castle, NWBA President. 

"His leadership has been evident in all facets of his life."

Fox was named as McCoy's direct successor.

He has been a coach with the Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers, and also serves as the club's general manager.

The recent success of the "Cavs", who were crowned Division III Champions in 2010, on and off the court is said to be directly attributable to Fox and the vision he has for the team.

“It is great to see how Tim can grow talent in the NWBA," Castle added.

"For people like him who want to take advantage of opportunities to give back and make a difference, there are a progression of opportunities available. 

"We are excited to see his contributions as he steps into his new role on the NWBA Board of Directors."
