The United Arab Emirates' Faisal Al Ketbi delighted the home crowd at the Ju-Jitsu International Federation World Championships in Dubai, claiming the men's 94 kilograms title today.

Al Ketbi triumphed ahead of Germany's Julian Stonjek at Mubadala Arena, becoming a four-time world champion in the process following three successive victories from 2015 to 2017.

Poland's Bartosz Zawadzki and Israel's Roy Dagan were the bronze medallists.

Today's two other senior winners were Israel's Nimrod Ryeder in the men's 77kg event and Russia's Abdulbari Guseinov in the men's 85kg competition.

Ryeder finished ahead of Jordan's Hamzeh Al-Rasheed, with Canada's Kieran Kichuk and Poland's Robert Henek taking the bronze medals.

Guseinov, meanwhile, beat Kyrgyzstan's Abdurahmanhaji Murtazaliev to top honours and the podium was rounded off by Canada's Nathan Dos Santos and Poland's Maciej Kozak.

Action in Dubai continues tomorrow.

It will be the penultimate day of competition.
