Belarus’ Olympic champion Uladzislau Hancharou topped men’s qualification at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Trampoline World Cup competition in Baku.

Hancharou emerged as the best of the eight qualifiers for tomorrow’s men’s trampoline final at the National Gymnastics Arena in Azerbaijan’s capital city.

He achieved a combined score of 114.655 points to ensure participation in the final.

China’s multiple world champion Gao Lei placed second on 114.505.

World Championship silver medallist Ivan Litvinovich continued his recent impressive form, as the Belarusian placed third in qualification on 113.190.

Women’s qualification was dominated by the Chinese team, who earned the top three positions.

Zhu Xueying headed the standings with 105.405, with team-mate Liu Lingling placing second on 105.035.

Olympic bronze medallist Li Dan will not compete in the final, despite placing third in qualification on 105.035 points.

Only two athletes per country can compete in the final.

Canada's Olympic champion Rosannagh MacLennan also looks set to miss out on the final, after she could only place 14th in qualification.

United States’ Hope Bravo led women’s tumbling qualifying with a score of 65.400, with France’s Emilie Wambote and Candy Briere-Vetillard rounding off the top three on 65.100 and 64.900.

Kaden Brown led men’s qualification with the American achieving a score of 73.500.

Australia’s Ethan McGuinness placed second on 72.400, while Russia’s Aleksandr Lisitsyn was third on 71.700.

Finals will take place tomorrow.
