Scottish athletes who have competed at the Commonwealth Youth Games have been invited to a reunion to mark the 20th anniversary of the inaugural edition in Edinburgh.

Commonwealth Games Scotland is hosting the celebration after the country's capital first welcomed the Youth Games in 2000.

It is scheduled for May 16 at Oriam on Heriot Watt University's campus in Edinburgh.

This is the site of the first Commonwealth Youth Games Athletes' Village.

Fourteen countries competed at Edinburgh 2000, with the Games held as part of Scotland's millennium celebrations.

Five editions have been held since – Bendigo 2004, Pune 2008, Isle of Man 2011, Samoa 2015 and Bahamas 2017.

The next edition will take place in Trinidad and Tobago in 2021.

A display of memorabilia and photographs from all six editions will be part of the reunion.
