Diede de Groot and Dylan Alcott moved one match closer to securing the final piece of the calendar Grand Slam puzzle at the US Open.

In the women's wheelchair singles, Dutch favourite De Groot continued her sensational form to progress to the final at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Tokyo 2020 gold medallist beat countrywoman Aniek van Koot 6-1, 6-0 in just 47 minutes as she stormed towards a fourth consecutive US Open title.

The 24-year-old will face Japan's Yui Kamiji in the final after she beat Jordanne Whiley of Britain 6-1, 6-3.

In the quad singles semi-finals, Australian Alcott's quest to become the first male player ever to complete a calendar Grand Slam continued as he brushed aside Koji Sugeno of Japan.

Defending champion Kunieda continued on his path towards an eighth title in the men's wheelchair singles against Briton Gordon Reid.

The Japanese star overcame a first-set scare from the world number four but managed to pull off a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Reid's compatriot Alfie Hewett is set to face Kunieda in the final after he dispatched Argentina's Gustavo Fernández 6-2, 6-4.
