All six medals at the first-ever European Teqball Tour leg in Cervia were won by Hungarian and Serbian athletes.

The Italian venue welcomed some of the sport's biggest stars for men's doubles and mixed doubles competition, kicking off the European Teqball Tour.

Serbia's Nikola Mitro and Bogdan Marojevic upset the world number one and two - and reigning world doubles champions - Csaba Bányik and Ádám Blázsovics of Hungary in the final, after the two teams enjoyed a comfortable route to the final without dropping a set.

Mitro and Marojevic prevailed from a set down to win 5-12, 12-8, 12-5.

In the bronze-medal match, Hungarians Adam Bako and Soma Fordos defeated Adrian Duszak and Bartlomiej Frańczuk of Poland 12-9, 12-8.

Bányik would get revenge on Mitro in the mixed doubles final, after the Hungarian won the gold with partner Zsanett Janicsek 12-5, 12-10 against Mitro and Maja Umicevic.

In an all-Hungarian bronze-medal match, Balazs Katz and Gabriella Kota defeated Bence Forgacs and Timea Kapusi 12-4, 12-10.

This tournament marks the start of a new era of teqball events on the continent, with FITEQ in the process of revising its competition calendar for 2022 and beyond.

The ambition of the new competition structure is to bring increased prize money to and greater global interest in the sport's elite-level events.
