The organisers say in the video they are "supporting different sports and athletes" and "very proud to be the host", before urging viewers to "be a part of Santiago 2023."

The Pan American and Parapan American games have been included in the country's President Sebastián Piñera's $82.1 billion (£59.9 billion/€70 billion) budget for 2022.

Many of the venues being used are pre-existing, but $170 million (£130 million/€153 million) has been set aside for constructing or renovating facilities.

Santiago 2023 revealed in January 2020 it had a budget of $507 million (£375 million/€416 million) for the Games.

The main Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago can hold more than 48,000 spectators.

It was renovated in 2009 and hosted the South American Games in 2014.

Chile was awarded hosting rights for the 1975 and 1987 Pan American Games, but withdrew both times due to financial and political problems.

It was unanimously selected as host city at the Association of National Olympic Committees General Assembly in 2017.

Yesterday marked 750 days until the event begins, with dates for the Pan American Games scheduled for October 20 to November 5 2023, and the Parapan American Games for November 17 to 25.

More than 6,000 athletes across 38 sports and 57 disciplines are expected to take part.
