Tunisia's Ons Jabeur and Spain's Paula Badosa complete the women's singles semi-final line-up at the Indian Wells Masters as they both earned straight-sets victories in California.

At 12th, Jabeur is the highest-seeded player left in the draw and made sure she will be in the top 10 of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings after the conclusion of the tournament - the first Arab player to achieve the feat.

This came as she eased past Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.

Jabeur found two early breaks to take a 4-1 lead in the first set but was pegged back to 5-5 before winning the final two games to take it 7-5.

She then found the decisive break in the seventh game of the second set, before 18th seed Kontaveit lost serve again as Jabeur clinched the set 6-3.

"Honestly a great match, great fight," Jabeur said afterwards.

"Always tough to play against Anett.

"I tried to play my game little bit, but she knows me so well.

"It was kind of tough to kind of execute those drop shots.

"I'm pretty glad that I stayed calm when I needed to be.

"It was very stressful at the end.

"But I'm glad that I got the win and looking forward to play.

"Why not get the title here?"

Two-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber of Germany was the top-seeded player left in the tournament at 10th, but that is no longer the case as 21st seed Badosa advanced to her second WTA 1000 semi-final of the year.

Her third successive win against a higher-ranked opponent at this tournament once again came in straight sets as she triumphed 6-4, 7-5.

Badosa will play Jabeur in the semi-finals, with two-time Indian Wells champion Victoria Azarenka of Belarus facing Latvia's Jeļena Ostapenko.

In the men's singles, Britain's Cameron Norrie will play Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the last four as the pair progressed at the expense of higher-ranked opponents.

Norrie thrashed Argentina's 11th seed Diego Schwartzman 6-0, 6-2 to secure a victory that will move him into the top 20 of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.

He will be up against Dimitrov in his maiden ATP Masters 1000 semi-final as the 23rd seed came from a set down to beat world number 12 Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in a thrilling quarter-final.

As was the case in his stunning fightback against top seed and US Open champion Daniil Medvedev of Russia in the first round, first blood went to his opponent as Hurkacz took the first set 6-3.

However, Dimitrov hit back to win the second 6-4 and, after both players each lost a service game in the third and the scores were locked at 6-6, the match went to a deciding tiebreak, in which the Bulgarian recovered from losing his serve on the first point to come out on top 7-2.

This was Dimitrov's 100th win on the ATP Masters 1000 stage.

The other quarter-finals will be held tomorrow, featuring second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece against Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili, and third seed Alexander Zverev of Germany versus American Taylor Fritz.
