Top seeds Sweden continued their free-scoring form at the Women’s World Floorball Championship as the hosts and holders defeated Germany 20-0 in Group B.

The Swedes yesterday put 22 past Slovakia and scored another hatful today at the IFU Arena, with 10 different goalscorers in their latest big victory.

In the other Group B match Finland were convincing 7-2 winners over Slovakia, with Veera Kauppi netting three goals for the second game in a row.

The first match of the day came in Group A as Poland beat Latvia 6-4, with Zuzanna Kryzwak and Karolina Rozmus both scoring two goals apiece.

The day’s Group C game saw Thailand defeat Italy 5-2, with Nelly Johansson scoring an early brace for Thailand in a comfortable victory.

In Group D Norway recorded a big win over Estonia, triumphing 11-1, scoring six goals in the final period.

The day’s closest contest also came in Group D, with Singapore drawing 5-5 with the National Floorball Federation of Russia (NFFR).

The NFFR took a 2-0 lead inside the first eight minutes, before Singapore scored four times without reply to open a two goal lead of their own at 4-2.

With the match level at 4-4 with just over a minute to go, Mariia Kitaeva put the NFFR ahead, before with less than five seconds remaining Angela Model scored her second of the game for Singapore to ensure the match was drawn 5-5.

Six more group matches are scheduled to take place on the penultimate day of group action tomorrow.
