Britain's world champion Charlotte Bankes takes to the slopes once again in the International Ski Federation Snowboard Cross World Cup in Cervinia.

Bankes, coming off victory in Montafon last time out, leads the World Cup standings on 180 points.

Her lead is set to be further established after the World Cup in Italy as the Czech Republic's Eva Samková, currently second in the standings on 145 after victory in the season-opening Secret Garden World Cup in China, suffered a nasty crash in Montafon and will not be competing.

Belle Brockhoff from Australia currently sits third in the World Cup standings after finishing second behind Bankes in Montafon.

In the men's competition, Austria's Alessandro Haemmerle will look to continue his perfect start to the season, having won in Secret Garden and Montafon.

Due to the consecutive victories, Haemmerle has established a 60-point lead over Nick Baumgartner of the United States.

Baumgartner, 39, has rolled back the years to secure a third and second-place finish at Secret Garden and Montafon respectively.

Home hero Omar Visintin is third in the standings after his second place in China.

Qualification is due to take place tomorrow, with the final scheduled for Saturday (December 17).
