Six more teams have qualified for the netball tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham based on the updated world rankings.

Uganda, Scotland, Wales, Trinidad and Tobago, Northern Ireland and Barbados are all set to be invited to compete in the event by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF).

England, the host nation, and the five other top-ranked teams in the World Netball rankings on July 28 secured the first half of the Birmingham 2022 berths in the sport.

Australia, world champions New Zealand, Jamaica, South Africa and Malawi - who have since been overtaken by Uganda on the ranking list - also had their places at the Commonwealth Games confirmed.

The six eligible countries ranked seventh to 12th on the list published today complete the line-up for the netball event at Birmingham 2022.

They will still have to accept the invitation from the CGF before their places are officially confirmed.

The line-up for Birmingham 2022 will include 11 of the 12 teams that competed in netball at Gold Coast 2018.

Fiji have effectively been replaced in the line-up by Trinidad and Tobago.

England claimed netball gold with a dramatic victory over hosts Australia in Gold Coast four years ago, while Jamaica took bronze after overcoming New Zealand.

The netball tournament at Birmingham 2022 is scheduled to run from July 29 to August 7 at the NEC Arena.
