Jonas Frei has successfully defended his International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Para Sport World Championships title in Lillehammer, Norway.

Frei, who led at the halfway point overnight, recorded the best overall time of 3 minutes and 46.13 seconds over the course of the two days.

With the triumph, the 24-year-old from Switzerland has secured his third title in the 2021-2022 winter, building on his victories at the IBSF Para Sport World Cup and the European Championships.

Just 0.53sec behind Fei was Italy’s Menardi Flavio - the youngest competitor in Lillehammer.

Despite the 21-year-old being 11th after the first run, he performed superbly to win the second run and added two more good runs.

Taking bronze was Christopher Stewart - the European champion of 2019 - with a time of 3:46.81.

Britain's 2020 Para Sport European Champion Mapp Corie missed out on a podium by just 0.04sec.
