Austria’s Marita Kramer is poised to be crowned women’s overall International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup champion for the first time as the season concludes in OBerhof in Germany.

With events originally planned to be held in the Russian venues of Nizhny Tagil and Chaykovsky cancelled following the invasion of Ukraine, the 2021-2022 World Cup campaign will finish in Oberhof this weekend.

The German town is set to stage two normal hill competitions on Saturday and Sunday (March 12 and 13), with qualifying due to take place tomorrow.

Kramer needs to finish 26th place or high in either of the events to seal the five points needed to secure the overall title.

The 20-year-old has led the standings for almost the entire season having registered seven victories.

She has totalled 1,226 points so far, leading Slovenian Nika Križnar is mathematically the only ski jumper who can catch Kramer.

Olympic bronze medallist Križnar, a winner of the recent women's Raw Air tournament, sits second with 1,031 points but would need to win both events in Oberhof and hope Kramer fails to score five points.

Compatriot Urša Bogataj occupies third spot with 951 points.

Kramer, third in the overall standings last season, has recently recovered from COVID-19 which forced her to miss the Winter Olympics in Beijing after testing positive for the virus.
