Estonia's Arlet Levandi and France's Lorine Schild both claimed impressive victories at the conclusion of the figure skating competitions here at the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival in Vuokatti.

Levandi, a Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympics team gold medallist, dominated the boys' event at the Vuokatti Areena.

He led at the halfway stage after the short programme, and finished with a score of 209.54 after the free skating.

That was comfortably clear of second-placed Raffaele Francesco Zich of Italy, who scored 187.83.

Britain's Edward Appbley was third after the short programme, but dropped out of the medal positions at the expense of Casper Johansson from Sweden, who finished with 185.76 after a brilliant performance on the second day of competition.

Appleby was just 1.30 short of the podium.

In the girls' event, there was a change of leadership, with Schild leapfrogging Finland's Olivia Lisko.

Her margin of victory was fairly comfortable after posting a superb 166.98, while the home favourite was only the fourth-best in the free skating and finished with 155.03.

Switzerland's Sarina Joos climbed from fifth to third with 153.43, while Ginevra Lavinia Negrello of Italy just missed out with 150.92.
