Thorngren scored 133.28 today to Queen's Gambit by Carlos Rafael Rivera, with her total being 199.42.

It was enough to overturn Yun's short programme lead, after she scored 129.59 to The Mummy Returns soundtrack by Alan Silvestri for a score of 195.87.

South Korean Wi Seo-yeong was fifth on 186.72, in front of the third American, Clare Seo on 182.81.

American siblings Oona and Gage Brown topped the free dance standings to win ice dance gold.

Scoring 103.27 to Muse Medley, arranged by Hugo Chouinard, the duo had a total of 170.25.

Canadians Natalie D'Alessandro and Bruce Waddell took silver with a free dance score of 98.56 for 162.56, performing to Black Swan: Perfection by Clint Mansell.

Bronze went to Canada's Nadiia Bashynska and Peter Beaumont, with their routine to Caruso by Lucia Dallas being just enough to hold on with a total of 157.64, at the expense of Americans Katarina Wolfkostin and Jeffrey Chen, who finished second in free dance and finished with a combined score of 157.27.

Darya Grimm and Michail Savitskiy of Germany were fifth on 154.48.
