Beaugrand helped her country to place third in the mixed team relay at Tokyo 2020 last year, and clinched a maiden Arena Games victory at the London Aquatics Centre, which only reopened earlier this week after a gas leak in March resulted in 29 people being taken to hospital.

She got off to a flier in the 200 metres swim in the first stage of the final, clocking 2min 12sec.

After a 4 kilometres turbo trainer bike leg and 1km treadmill run, Beaugrand led Britain's Beth Potter by 3.4sec after the first stage and Britain's Olympic mixed relay gold medallists Jess Learmonth and Georgia Taylor-Brown by 17 and 24 seconds respectively.

Beaugrand extended her lead in the second stage which featured a reverse 1km run, 4km bike and 200m swim, holding a 17-second advantage over Potter and 19-second lead over Learmonth, with Taylor-Brown 22 seconds off the pace.

The French athlete ultimately finished 32 seconds clear of Potter, who won the first Arena Games event of the season in Munich.

Learmonth clinched third place, with Taylor-Brown placing fourth and France's Audrey Merle fifth.

Beaugrand and Potter are set to go head-to-head for the Arena Games Triathlon title at the Championship Finals in Singapore on May 7.

Justus Nieschlag of Germany built on his bronze medal in Munich in the men's event as he clinched gold in London in 33:43.

Britain's Alex Yee - Tokyo 2020 gold medallist in the mixed relay and silver medallist in the men's individual event - placed second at his home event 29 seconds later.

Bronze went to Italy's Nicolò Strada, who finished 24 seconds after Yee.
