International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) officials have promised to bring more events to the Oceania region and have paid tribute to the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) and Organisation of Sports Federations of Oceania (OSFO) in helping the sport to grow.

FITEQ sport director Matthew Curtain attended the ONOC General Assembly in Fiji earlier this month, where Robin Mitchell was re-elected ONOC President.

Curtain then took part in the OFSO Annual General Meeting.

FITEQ joined OSFO in 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted its participation in events until this month's gathering in Fiji.

"As an OSFO member, FITEQ is very excited about the future of sport in the region, which will be shaped by the implementation of the new strategic and operational plans," Curtain said.

"Teqball is making great strides across Oceania and we are only at the beginning of our journey.

"As we move towards a post-pandemic world, we look forward to bringing more events to Oceania countries and seeing elite athletes from the region competing in our major events."

FITEQ lists eight member National Federations in Oceania - American Samoa, Guam, the Cook Islands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Tuvalu and Papua New Guinea.
