The World Ninepin Bowling Championships is set to return after a four-year hiatus with the Estonian town of Elva staging the competition between May 23 and 28.

The 2020 edition in Tarnowo Podgórne in Poland, which was slated for between May 17 and 23, was cancelled due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last time out, Serbia’s Vilmoš Zavarko swept the men’s single, sprint and combination events.

The women’s events were shared between Sina Beißer of Germany, Ines Maričić of Croatia and Jasmina Anđelković of Serbia.

Beißer was victorious in the single while Maričić and Anđelković triumphed in the sprint and combination respectively.

Renáta Navrkalová and Jan Endršt of Czech Republic were crowned the champions of the mixed tandem.

The men's and women's single qualifications are set to be split across the first two days and the mixed tandem round one is scheduled to be held primarily on the second day.

The first round of the men's and women's sprints is planned to be held on May 25 along with the mixed tandem and sprints finals.

The second round of the men's and women's single is scheduled for the next day with the quarter-finals following on May 27.

The semi-finals and final are set to be staged on May 28.
