Norway defeated the United States to win gold in the men's air rifle team event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Grand Prix in Granada.

The Norwegian trio of Henrik Larsen, Jon-Hermann Hegg and Ole Martin Halvorsen earned a 16-8 victory over the US team of Brandon Muske, Ivan Roe and Timothy Sherry.

The bronze-medal match was won by Spain’s Jesus Oviedo, Juan Cecilia and Adrian Gonzalez Bocero, who earned a 16-8 result against Finland’s Aleksi Leppa, Sebastian Langstrom and Riku Tapio Koskela.

The women’s air rifle team title went to Italy.

Barbara Gambaro, Sofia Ceccarello - who had already taken gold in the air rifle mixed team event - and Giulia Mainetti secured a 17-11 win in their gold-medal match against the Spanish trio of Paula Grande, Mireia Rosello and Ines Martinon.

Poland, represented by Katarzyna Komorowska, Aleksandra Szutko and Agnieszka Nagay, earned bronze with a 16-10 victory over the Norwegian women’s 10m air rifle team of Jeanette Duestad, Jenny Stene and Benedikte Oppedal.

Tomorrow will see qualification for the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, the 25m pistol women's event and the men’s skeet shotgun event.

Competition will conclude on Sunday (May 29).
