The draw for the Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) World Cup is set to take place on British television show The Last Leg on July 29.

The programme is a comedy talk show which originally aired alongside the London 2012 Paralympic Games and is anchored by Australian comedian Adam Hills.

Hills, who was born without a right foot, plays for the Warrington Wolves' PDRL team and is a Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) tournament ambassador.

RLWC2021 is taking place this year following a COVID-19 postponement.

Hills said: "From Buckingham Palace to The Last Leg studio, rugby league certainly knows how to conduct a draw!

"July 29 will be a big day for the PDRL World Cup - not only learning the fixtures that will take place in Warrington, but also seeing Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe do something official for the first time in history."

Hills also confirmed his intentions to play in the tournament, with the nation he will play for also to be revealed on July 29.

"Not only are we delighted to host the PDRL World Cup showcase event as part of our commitment to be the biggest, best and most inclusive rugby league world cup in history, but we are thrilled to have the support of our tournament ambassador Adam and everyone on The Last Leg," said Jon Dutton, said RLWC2021 chief executive Jon Dutton.

"To bring the sport of PDRL to this new audience is a huge step for us in our ambition to create a real impact."

The upcoming PDRL World Cup is set to take place in Warrington from October 23 to 30 in what is due to be the first edition of the competition.

It is happening parallel to the 2021 Rugby League World Cup, scheduled for October 15 to November 19 in England, which features men's, women's and wheelchair tournaments.

The event was originally set to be held between 23 October 2021 and 27 November 2021, however the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent withdrawals of Australia and New Zealand caused the tournament to be postponed.
