Canadian Para-taekwondo athlete Anthony Cappelo has been honoured by a restaurant which has dedicated a burger to him.

Notre Boeuf de Grace in Montreal has created the "Dwi Chagi", or the Back Kick Burger, which is named after Cappello's signature kick.

The six ounce burger features Korean seasoning, Korean barbecue sauce, hoisin glazed bacon and kale kimchi.

The Korean elements are a nod to the country where taekwondo was created.

"Just like Anthony's signature kick - the back kick - this burger delivers a big kick of flavour," the restaurant claims.

Cappello, who competes in the K43 classification, has won three Canadian national titles.

He won a silver medal at the 2019 World Championships, but was unable to compete when taekwondo made its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020.

The Canadian, then the world number three, was left concussed after an illegal kick at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima.

It meant he was unable to enter the Tokyo 2020 qualifying tournament.
