The United States won their first International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series event of the season with a comfortable win against Lithuania in Quebec.

Lauren Cox provided eight points in the US' 18-7 victory in the final against Lithuania at the Agora du Vieux Port, with Cierra Burdick adding five, Breanna Richardson three and Joanne Allen-Taylor two.

Earlier in the tournament, they had beaten Spain 18-16 and Czech Republic 20-8 before suffering a 13-12 defeat to hosts Canada in Pool B.

Their quarter-final ended in a comfortable 21-11 win against France, before they eased past defending 3x3 Women's Series champions Germany 15-9 in the semi-finals.

The US' victory followed final defeats in Poitiers and Edmonton to Germany and Canada respectively earlier in the year.

Germany ranked third in Quebec after losing their semi-final to the US, while Canada had to settle for fourth after a 19-13 defeat to Lithuania.

Germany have not won a Series event since their back-to-back triumphs in Tel Aviv and Poitiers to start the season, but remain top of the standings on 510 points.

France are second on 430, with the US and Lithuania both now on 310 in third and fourth respectively.

The top eight teams on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series standings qualify for the Constanța Final on September 17 and 18.

Quebec was the 10th stop on this season's Series, with events in Eaubonne and Montreal still to come.
