Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) President Alexander Engelhardt completed a three-stop tour of Southeast Asia as he checked up on the sport's development in the region.

Engelhardt initially visited Singapore where he met ONE Championship chairman and chief executive Chatri Sityodtong to discuss the strategic partnerships the organisations signed in 2019.

A trip to Thailand followed where Engelhardt staged a meeting with the National Federation in the build-up to this year's GAMMA Asian Championships.

The Fight for the Future Foundation, an organisation in partnership with GAMMA, also updated Engelhardt on their work to help underprivileged families with financial and academic opportunities through martial arts.

The GAMMA President travelled to Cambodia for his final stop to discuss development of the sport in the country with the national governing body, as well as its interest in becoming a partner of Fight for the Future.

"It is so important to be able to travel and visit our member federations in person," Engelhardt said following the end of his tour.

"Each one is unique and working extremely hard to develop our great sport in their respective countries.

"Our role as the International Federation is to listen to our members and provide support and assistance to them in the most appropriate ways.

"I have been extremely impressed by the work being done and express my sincere gratitude for the very warm welcome I have received."
