The event is set to run from February 19 to March 5 in the Georgian town next year. 

Bakuriani welcomed a delegation led by FIS secretary general Michel Vion for the inspection.

He was joined by park and pipe contest director Roby Moresi, moguls and aerials race director Andrea Rinaldi, cross race directors Uwe Beier and Klaus Waldner, event director Sandra Spitz and assistant event manager Julia Ziemska.

"It is great to see how much ground work and preparation work was done so far by the Organising Committee here in Bakuriani," said Vion.

"There are less than 100 days to go with still some final work to be done, but I am convinced that these World Championships are going to be very successful ones and will leave a legacy of incredible value to the region of Bakuriani.

"Thank you very much to the entire OC for their fantastic work and we are looking forward to an amazing event here in Georgia."

Together with the Organising Committee, the FIS delegation visited competition sites at Kokhta and Didveli to see the work done to prepare the venues for aerials and moguls events.

The cross course, Alpine snowboard slopes, slopestyle, and big air sites were also inspected.

"As a result of the implemented works, we have completely new systems of artificial snowmaking in Bakuriani, improved infrastructure in the form of new cableways and new tracks, as well as artificial reservoirs necessary for the proper functioning of the snowmaking system," said Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili.

Davitashvili also said the upgrades would make the location "one of the most competitive resorts not only in the South Caucasus but internationally."

Georgia has never held an FIS event of the magnitude of next year's World Championships before.
