They sealed their spot in the final by defeating men's singles finalist Adrian Duszak of Poland and his partner Alicja Bartnicka.

Bako and Vasas won 12-9, 12-7 to ensure they would meet Leonardo Lindoso de Almeida and Vania Moraes da Cruz of Brazil in the contest for gold.

Leonardo and Vania ensure Brazil keeps it 100 per cent record in making the mixed doubles final, but the pair will look to improve on their silver last year, where they lost to Hungary - albeit to Csaba Bányik and Zsanett Janicsek that time.

They were dominant in the round of 16, thrashing Norwegians Alexander Mørland Karlsen and Henriette Ingvaldsen 12-0, 12-1; before beating Aitor Vives Yera and Silvia Ferrer Garcia of Spain 12-5, 12-6 for a spot in the semi-finals.

Nikola Mitro and Maja Umicevic from Serbia were defeated 12-3, 12-9 by the Brazilians in the final four.

Poland won the bronze medal in the last match of the night, with Duszak and Bartnicka winning 12-4, 12-9.

Five other finals are set to take place tomorrow, including the women's singles gold-medal match between Hungarian Anna Iszák and Carolyn Greco from the United States.

Serbians Nikola Mitro and Bogdan Marojevic are hoping to successfully defend their men's doubles title against Adam Bako and Ádám Blázsovics from Hungary; while Americans Carolyn Greco and Maggie Osmundson take on Zsanett Janicsek and Lea Vasas from Hungary in the women's doubles.
