The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) World Championships fields have been finalised, with 12 women's and 16 men's teams set to compete in the re-arranged event in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Men's champions Britain are part of the line-up, which also consists of 2018 runners-up United States and the bronze medallists Australia.

Hosts UAE represent Asia alongside Iran, Thailand, South Korea and Iraq.

Also from Europe are France, Germany, Italy and The Netherlands.

The rest of the field consists of Argentina, Brazil, Canada and Egypt.

UAE decided not to select a women's team, much like Iran, meaning Thailand and China take their spots.

The Netherlands will be looking to successfully defend their title, winning their first in 2018 against Britain, who also return.

Bronze medallists Germany are in the field too, with Spain being the other European side.

Algeria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Thailand and the US make up the rest of the 12 teams.

There are set to be 300 international wheelchair basketball players set to compete at the World Championships in Dubai, scheduled to take place from June 9 to 20.

In the women's competition, the teams are split into two groups of six, with the top four in each progressing to the knockout stages.

There will not be any teams eliminated in the men's four groups of four, which instead, will act as seeding for the last 16 matches.

The World Championships were moved to June to avoid clashing with the FIFA World Cup, which took place in Qatar in November and December.
