German duo Laura Nolte and Johannes Lochner claimed the respective women's monobob and men's two-man bobsleigh titles at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Championships in St Moritz.

Nolte overcame Olympic gold medallist Kaillie Humphries of the United States to be crowned world monobob champion at the Swiss venue.

Leading after the first two runs, the German delivered victory with a combined time of 4min 44.85sec.

Humphries finished 0.40 off Nolte as she had to settle for silver, while Lisa Buckwitz ensured another German medal with bronze in 4:45.57.

"I didn't expect it, even though a medal was the goal," said Nolte.

"I thought Kaillie would dominate - but of course I didn't want to let go."

Two-man bobsleigh pilot Lochner secured another gold for Germany when he teamed up with Georg Fleischhauer to clinch victory in St Moritz.

Lochner and Fleischhauer claimed gold after recording a winning time of 4:21.84.

They got the better of four-time Olympic champion and multiple world gold medallist Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schueller who collected silver in 4:22.33.

Switzerland's Michael Vogt and Michel Sandro denied Germany a clean sweep when they finished in 4:22.34 to take bronze, edging out Christoph Hafer and Matthias Sommer.
