Fans are now able to cast their votes for the World Archery Awards with nominees for the 10 categories now released by the governing body before the ceremony in March.

Members of the public are able to make their choice for male and female athletes of the year in recurve, compound, and Para archery.

In addition, there will be awards for the breakthrough athlete, coach, and judge of the year.

This year also marks the first time since 2012 that an overall archer of the year is due to be named.

The category does not feature a shortlist.

Among those nominated in the different categories are reigning Archery World Cup champions Sara López of Colombia, American Mike Schloesser, South Korea's An San and Kim Woojin, and World Games champions Ella Gibson of Britain and Mexican Miguel Becerra.

Turkey's Mete Gazoz, who is shortlisted again, collected category awards in 2021 alongside López, Schloesser, and An.

López has received the compound women’s award each year since 2015.

Nominees for the nine shortlisted awards were received from National Federations and members of the press.

The overall athlete of the year is an open trophy and will be awarded on nominations from a closed media panel.

Award winners in 2022 will receive non-fungible token digital trophies during an online presentation in March, with an exact date yet to be announced.

A shortlist for the inaugural inductees to the World Archery Hall of Fame has also been released.

Each of the 10 nominees has been chosen for making "an outstanding contribution to the international sport of archery" as an athlete, official, coach or innovator.

Archery’s first modern Olympic champions, the United States' John Williams and Doreen Wilber, both feature - as does innovator Doug Easton and World Archery’s first female President Inger Frith.

Both Williams and Wilber won individual gold at Munich 1972.

The Selection Committee will approve up to two people for an inaugural induction.
