Britain’s Kirsty Muir topped women’s freeski slopestyle qualification at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation World Cup in Mammoth Mountain in the United States.

Muir, who won two bronzes at the recent Winter X Games in Aspen, including in the slopestyle discipline, topped the standings with 94.40 points.  

Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland qualified in second place with 89.80 points, with Norway’s Johanne Killi in third with 88.40.

In total eight skiers qualified for the final, with Olympic champion Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland scraping through in the last place available after scoring 72.20.

The rest of the line-up for the women’s final is Ruby Star Andrews of New Zealand, Sandra Eie of Norway, Ruyi Yang of China and Canada’s Megan Oldham.

In men's qualifying, heat one was won by Norway's Sebastian Schjerve with a score of 95.00 points.

Canada's Etienne Geoffrey Gagnon qualified in second with 90.40 points, with fellow Norwegian Birk Ruud third with 89.60.

Heat two was won by Andri Ragettli of Switzerland, who finished fourth in the discipline at Beijing 2022, with a score of 92.40.

Canadian Max Moffatt was second with 88.60 points, with his compatriot Noah MacLennan Porter third with 87.60 points.

The final qualifier from heat two was Olympic champion Alexander Hall of the United States, who scraped through to the final in eighth place in the heat with 83.60 points.

The men's and women's freeski slopestyle World Cups are due to take place on Saturday (February 4).
