The five-time Olympic champion Bø took his 16th World Cup victory of the season with gold in the men's 12.5-kilometres pursuit after 31min 25.1sec.

His brother Tarjei missed just one shot in the second standing stage at the range to finish in second 34.6 off the pace.

Sweden's Martin Ponsiluoma then rounded out the podium in third.

He made up for a poor showing with the rifle, with which he missed five shots, by producing a rapid display on skis to clock in after 32:36.1.

"I was aware of the wind from the beginning," said Bø.

"With the wind steadier, I opted for fast shooting in the standing.

"It was a good day.

"People here wake you up throughout the course, and the IBU World Championships in 2024 will be very special."

The result means that Bø also wins the World Cup pursuit score title for the third time in his career.

Olsbu Røiseland then got the better of the rest of the women's 10km pursuit field as she surged to glory.

The triple Olympic champion outclassed her countrywoman Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold by 2.2 seconds as she crossed the line in 29:22.7 with both athletes missing just one shot.

A clean-shooting Anais Chevalier-Bouchet was then 15.3 slower than Olsbu Røiseland.

"It was an incredibly close-fought race with Ingrid," said Olsbu Roeiseland.

"I knew she would attack early but had enough strength to stay with her on the climb.

"I finished strongly.

"I feel more and more like myself.

"Two wins in two days in front of these cheering fans are fantastic."

Competition is set to conclude tomorrow with the mixed relay and single mixed relay events scheduled.
