Victory saw Granerud win his third ski flying competition of the season, as the three-time World Championship silver medallist registered jumps of 235.5 metres and 222m, to earn 225.2 and 199.7 points respectively.

Granerud’s score of 225.2 points was the top score in round one, as he finished on 424.9 points in total.

Stefan Kraft of Austria finished second with 418.8 points, as he registered the second best jumps in both rounds.

Kraft managed jumps of 239.5 and 227.5 metres, earning 215.4 and 203.4 points respectively, as he finished 6.1 points behind Granerud.

The podium was completed by fellow Austrian Daniel Tschofenig who recorded jumps of 216.5 and 229.5 metres respectively.

Tschofenig’s second jump earned him 203.9 points, and was the highest scoring of the second round of jumps.

However, Tschofenig was not able to recover from a poor first jump which only scored him 186.2 points.

He finished with 390.1 points, 34.8 points adrift of the winner Granerud.

Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi finished fourth on 378 points, with the top five completed by Anze Lanisek of Slovenia with 376.4 points.

Granerud leads the overall World Cup standings with 1,978 points following his victory, with Poland’s Dawid Kubacki in second on 1,592 and Kraft in third with 1,450.

Men’s and women’s HS240 World Cup events are scheduled to take place in Vikersund tomorrow.
