Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) is seeking a new chair to succeed Paul Bush and help prepare the organisation for Victoria 2026.

Bush has served as CGS chair since May 2015, during which time Scotland placed eighth on the medals table at Gold Coast 2018 with nine golds and sixth at Birmingham 2022 with 13 victories, its best tally at the Commonwealth Games apart from Glasgow 2014 on home soil.

He was appointed as British Curling chair in February, although remained in his post as CGS chair.

CGS has now advertised for a replacement to lead the organisation from June 1, in time for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago from August 4 to 11.

The chair would be appointed to a term of up to four years, including what has been billed as the first regional Commonwealth Games in Victoria in three years' time.

CGS is also seeking nominations for two ordinary directors to join its Board, with the process open until April 18.

National governing bodies can put candidates forward for the role, with an election if required taking place at the Annual General Meeting.

Scotland is one of six nations to have competed at every edition of the Commonwealth Games since the inaugural Hamilton 1930 Empire Games, and has held the multi-sport event twice in Edinburgh in 1970 and 1986 and once in Glasgow nine years ago.
