Philip K T Mok has been appointed as the new honorary deputy secretary general of the Hong Kong Sports Federation and Olympic Committee (SFOC) following a by-election.

The voting took place at the organisation’s general meeting at the Jockey Club Lecture Theatre of Olympic House.

Mok won a majority of the votes to take over the vacancy arising from the election of Edgar J T Yang as honorary secretary general.

Mok’s term of office begins with immediate effect until the conclusion of the 2024 annual meeting.

In a statement, the SF&OC said: "The by-election was concluded successfully in an open and fair manner.


"The Federation is satisfied with the overall electoral arrangements and would like to express special thanks to the Election Committee for providing professional advice and overseeing the nomination and election process.

"The Federation also thanks all members attending the meeting and their cooperation."
