Basildon Sporting Village praised by London 2012 Japanese swim coach

Basildon Sporting_Village_June_29June 30 - Fumiyo Minemura, head coach of the Japanese Paralympic swimming squad, has heaped praised on the £38 million ($61 million/€47 million) Basildon Sporting Village which Japan's top Olympic and Paralympic swimmers are using as their pre-London 2012 training camp to finalise their preparations for the Games.

Denniston named USOC Paralympic Coach of the Year

Dave Denniston_20-06-12June 20 - Dave Denniston, the United States Paralympics swimming team trainer, has been named by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as the 2011 Paralympic Coach of the Year at a special reception during the 2012 National Coaching Conference at the NCAA Hall of Champions in Indianapolis.



US war veteran and Warrior Games champ has hopes set on London 2012

Warrior Games_Brad_Snyder_June_15June 15 - United States war veteran Bradley Snyder, who lost his eyesight in September 2011 when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in front of him while serving in Afghanistan, said he is looking to compete in swimming at the London 2012 Paralympics after winning four gold medals in the sport at the Warrior Games last month.
