Iran coach happy to talk about football rather than clothing

August 15 - Shahrzad Mozafar, the coach of the Iranian girl’s team at the Summer Youth Olympic Games, told insidethegames that she was happy to talk about something other than the team’s clothing after her side claimed a 1-0 win over Papa New Guinea in their second match in Group A courtesy of an early second half strike by Fatemeh Ardestani.






Singapore bring Youth Olympics to life with spectacular victory

August 13 - The majestic Mahaimin Suhaimi sparked the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games to life with a spectacular display in the opening boy’s football match of the Games as he dazzled the crowd and scored two outstanding goals to give Singapore a 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe and send the home crowd into a frenzy here tonight. 



Harland excited by new Olympic role

August 12 - Britain's former modern pentathlon star Georgina Harland (pictured) has admitted that she is excited about what lies in store for her after being selected as a Singapore 2010 Athlete Role Models (ARMs) for the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games which start here on Saturday (August 14).

August 12 - FIFA President Sepp Blatter told insidethegames tonight of his pleasure at seeing the Iranian girls team compete in the first match of the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore despite their participation being in doubt for a long period ahead of the competition following a row over what the team were allowed to wear.
