China's Jia Zongyang claimed another gold medal on home snow on the second day of the International Ski Federation Freestyle Skiing Aerials World Cup event in Secret Garden.

Prior to this weekend’s competition, the 26-year-old had not been on the World Cup podium since the 2013 event in Lake Placid but has now taken two wins from two contests at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic venue.

The Sochi 2014 bronze medallist performed a full to double full to full for 127.88 points, the exact same total as yesterday, to clinch the title.

These two gold medals from this weekend mean Jia now has 200 World Cup points, 70 more than compatriot Qi Guangpu in second.

Qi was incredibly close to winning today’s event but lost out by just 0.28 points.

Sochi 2014 champion Anton Kushnir of Belarus took bronze with 124.34 points.

The women's event saw overall World Cup title favourite Danielle Scott recover from a disappointing performance yesterday to clinch the gold medal with an unbeatable score of 100.11, thanks to a perfectly executed back double full to full.

After receiving her medal, the Australian said: "Yesterday was a bit of a sad day for me, I got blown off the hill so didn't really have much of a chance.

"It was good to come out and have a bit of a redemption today, it was still really tricky conditions.

"I did exactly what I needed to do and broke the 100 points, which is what I've been aiming for this season, just trying to get those little goals."

China's Xu Mengtao claimed her second silver of the weekend with a score of 87.42, meaning she now leads the overall standings in front of yesterday’s gold medalist Hanna Huskova of Belarus by 24 points.

Kristina Spiridonova of Russia recorded a World Cup podium finish for the second time in her career thanks to a score of 86.94, giving her bronze.

Today also saw the season's only aerials team event with China, Australia and Russia battling it out for the top prize.

The Chinese team took full advantage of being on home snow with a total score of 301.01 after jumps from single medalists Jia, Qi and Xu.

The Australian team, consisting of David Morris, Scott and Samantha Wells, received 289.19 points, narrowly giving them the silver medal over Russia, who scored 288.87.

Morris praised the way his team performed, despite the odds being against them.

"We've somehow managed to get on the podium, despite having two ladies and only one guy on a team with all other teams having bigger chances for a higher score," he said.

"So we had to smash it through every single run to make it to the big finals, and we came second so that's really an excellent result."

The competition will now take a break over Christmas with the next event taking place in Moscow, Russia, on January 6.
