October 22 - London 2012 Games has appointed two more managers to its aquatics team, it has been announced.

Julie Allsopp, a British player, manager and coach, will be responsible for the water polo competition, while Helen Jaques will carry out a similar role for the diving events.

The pair will be working closely with aquatics manager Charlotte O'Neill and aquatics services manager Catherine Castell to build on the work already done, provide discipline-specific input into planning and work on test events.

Allsopp and Jaques will also be working on other cross-aquatics projects while the team continues to grow.

O'Neill said: "I'm thrilled to be able to appoint Julie and Helen to these vital roles within the aquatics team.

Each discipline has its own unique set of requirements and it's important that each is led by people with experience of putting on international events.

It's also extra special to secure the services of two passionate and talented event organisers from within the British Swimming staff and volunteer community, which will hopefully ensure an excellent 'people' legacy after the Games."

David Sparkes, the chief executive of British Swimming, said: "British Swimming is delighted to welcome two more new people to the aquatics team at LOCOG.

"The team is full of experience and we are confident that under Charlotte O'Neill's leadership they will deliver for the sport a fantastic event and we look forward to working closely with them."
