USA Nordic has signed a multi-year deal with Therabody, which will become its official recovery partner in advance of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Therabody’s leading medical practices will be used during competitors’ preparations and warm-ups, as well as during their recovery to reduce muscle soreness.

Nordic athletes will use some of the company’s latest technologies, including the Theragun - the first "handheld percussive massage therapy device" which Therabody is most famous for - and RecoveryAir pneumatic compression boots.

They will also use the company’s latest innovations in vibration therapy, electrical simulation and botanical therapy.

The tech wellness company will offer education sessions through its Therabody University, providing athletes with training and recovery methods as well as relevant research, and support the national governing body for ski jumping and Nordic combined in the design of a new recovery room for use by all its athletes.

Therabody products will additionally be available to purchase on the USA Nordic team store.

USA Nordic’s executive director Bill Demong is excited at the opportunities the new partnership will bring.

"We are thrilled to partner with Therabody to make their industry-leading wellness devices available to our athletes," he commented.

"Wellness and recovery are critical aspects for our athletes to maximise performance.

"This partnership with Therabody will ensure that we’re equipped with the technology that we need to put our athletes in the best position to succeed and achieve the goals they have set for themselves, and as a team."

This is the first time Therabody has entered a partnership with a national organisation sending teams to a Winter Olympic Games.

USA Nordic is based at Park City in Utah, and last week held its National Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships.

The United States has been represented in ski jumping and Nordic combined at every Winter Olympics since the event was first held at Chamonix 1924.

The Beijing 2022 Games are scheduled to take place from February 4 to 20.
