Carlos Yulo is ready to add more disciplines to his repertoire prior to next year's Asian Games as he seeks to avenge a disappointing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Yulo, a 2019 world champion in the floor, 2021 world silver medallist in the parallel bars and 2021 world champion in the vault, will add high bar, rings and pommel horse to his events in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Yulo claimed his vault world title and parallel bars silver medal at the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Kitakyushu in Japan this month.

The Filipino gymnast was hoping for a medal in Japan but came away empty-handed, and begin his more rounded approach at next year's Asian Games in Hangzhou.

"He's not yet ready for the rings, the high bars, and the pommel horse," Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion said at the Philippine Sportswriters Association online forum as reported by Manila Times.

"Let's concentrate on these three things (floor exercise, vault and parallel bars) that he's good at.

"But now, we're going to make it overall for 2024."

Carrion added: "He has to train really hard for those three apparatus because it's not his forte."

Yulo is yet to compete at an Asian Games.

Hangzhou 2022 is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 25 next year
