Gustavo Ribeiro and Rayssa Leal are seeking to extend their leads in the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Championships Tour on its second stop at Arizona's Lake Havasu in the United States from October 29 to 30.

The duo were both victorious in the men's and women's respective competitions on the Tour's first stop in Salt Lake City in the United States.

Portuguese 20-year-old Ribeiro outclassed American pair Nyjah Huston and Alex Midler in August to win the season opener with a score of 27.6 to 27.2 and 25.4, respectively.

Huston cannot be written off, however, as the six-time SLS champion is determined to bounce back from his disappointing showing in skateboarding's Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020.

The 26-year-old finished seventh in the Japanese capital.

Americans Dominick Walker and John Dilo have been handed wildcard entries into the event.

In the women's event, 13-year-old Leal of Brazil pipped Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist, Funa Nakayama of Japan, to the title.

Athletes will take over the Tinnell Memorial Sports Complex at Rotary Park to compete for glory.

The preliminary rounds for men and women will take place tomorrow with both finals then set to be contested on Saturday (October 30).

It will also act as a precursor to the Super Crown Championship in Jacksonville from November 13 to 14.

The event was originally supposed to take place in Miami but due to adverse operational and weather constraints, the construction of the venue has been delayed.

Fans will be able to enter the competition for free with seating and standing capacity available.

Those not able to attend will still be able to watch the action via the tournament's website.
