The team, which consists of 29 seasoned and technical experts, was revealed at the Shantou University East Campus Stadium, which is one of the chosen competition venues for the Games.

Other members of the team include chief planner Wang Ruixiang, chief producer Huang Peiling, chief copywriter Qiao Wei, producer Xie Haitao, chief stage designer Shen Qingping and deputy chief executive director Huang Zhihui.

In Yang’s view, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will appeal to teenagers across Asia by using advanced technology, showing the positive image of China and portraying Chinese culture through artistic techniques.

A programme to develop and recruit placard bearers for the two ceremonies was also launched at the event, with a tag line called "light up your dream with vigour and smile."

Their role is to present a good depiction and refined manner of young Chinese people.

The Shantou 2021 Asian Youth Games is scheduled to take place between December 20 and 28 later this year.
