Duestad clinched a top four place in the first stage of the final at the Egypt International Olympic City Shooting Range, which saw her progress to the medal matches.

She ended the elimination phase with the top score of 41.5, with Italy’s Sofia Ceccarello joining her in the gold medal match on 41.

Duestad’s compatriot Jenny Stene was eliminated in third place on 39.5 to finish third.

The gold medal match saw Duestad win the contest by 17 points to 13 against Ceccarello.

The victory saw Duestad become the first Norwegian woman to top the podium at an ISSF World Cup individual event since 1994.

The 50m rifle three positions team events were also contested today.

Austria’s Thomas Mathis, Gernot Rumpler and Andreas Thum earned victory in the men’s competition.

The trio overcame the Czech Republic’s Jiri Privratsky, Petr Nymbursky and Filip Nepejchal 16-6 in the gold medal match.

Norway’s Ole Martin Halvorsen, Henrik Larsen and Jon-Hermann Hegg won the bronze medal match by the same score against Poland’s Maciej Kowalewicz, Tomasz Bartnik and Rafal Lukaszyk.

Slovenia’s Ziva Dvorsak, Urska Kuharic and Klavdija Jerovsek were the winners of the women’s competition.

The Slovenian team earned a narrow 17-15 victory over the United States’ Mary Tucker, Katie Zaun and Sagen Maddalena in the final.

Switzerland’s Franziska Stark, Chiara Leone and Nina Christen won bronze, overcoming Germany’s Jolyn Beer, Hannah Steffen and Lisa Mueller 17-9.
