The Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) has held a refereeing course in Beer Sheva, Israel, prior to a JJIF World Cup in the city.

The course was led by JJIF head of referees Alexandre Nascimento, with attendees including referees that are due to be on duty at the event.

Participants who pass the theory test will then be eligible to take part in a practical test during the World Cup.

The Ju-Jitsu World Cup in Beer Sheva is a ranking event, and is due to feature World Cup competitions at under-16 and under-18 level tomorrow, and for under-21s and adults on Sunday (June 18).

In March, Nascimento led a ju-jitsu refereeing seminar in Iran, attended by more than 60 people, as part of an ambition to grow the organisation's pool of referees.
