Lynda Laurin of the United States was lauded by USA Taekwondo for successfully completing the International Coaching Enrichment Certification Programme (ICECP).

The ICECP is a coaching programme that helps national coaches to enhance their skills.

It also includes the latest coaching principles from the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and the University of Delaware.

Laurin completed the course with honours, with her project titled "Leadership Skills Pivotal to Talent Identification and Sport Performance in Taekwondo".

During the project, Laurin analysed the athlete/coach leadership data and athletic performance outcomes, determined trends according to world class categories and correlated leadership skills and athletic performance outcomes for coach/athlete talent identification.

She was presented with a certificate at the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne.

Her project was intended to be used as a pilot research with results set to be used for growth, talent identification and performance for coaches and athletes to achieve competitive excellence together.
