Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz is among the field for tennis’s Hopman Cup, which begins tomorrow after a three-year absence.

The men’s world number one is representing Spain alongside Rebeka Masarova, in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) mixed team competition, which is being held at Nice Lawn Tennis Club.

The tournament starts just three days after the Wimbledon Championships concluded in London with Alcaraz defeating Serbia’s Novak Djokovic over five thrilling sets at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Named after Australian Davis Cup tennis captain Harry Hopman, the tournament traditionally acted as a curtain-raiser to the tennis season but has now been moved to the middle of the year.

There are six teams participating, with the hosts represented by Alize Cornet and Richard Gasquet, with Leandro Riedi and Celine Naef lining up for defending champions Switzerland.

Men’s world number six Holger Rune and Clara Tauson feature for Denmark, with David Goffin and Wimbledon women’s doubles runner-up Elise Mertens representing Belgium.

Croatia complete the line-up with their team of Borna Ćorić and Donna Vekić.

Each tie consists of men’s and women’s singles matches, followed by a concluding mixed doubles match over the best of three sets, with a super tie-break played as a third set if required in all matches.

Teams feature in two groups, with the top two reaching the final.

Group One consists of Denmark, Switzerland and France, with Group Two featuring Spain, Belgium and Croatia.

Holders Switzerland are set to feature in tomorrow's opening match, when they face Denmark.
