Lindgren won gold in the men's 10 metres air rifle in Baku today and admitted he was surprised to win his first senior final.

He took the title with a score of 251.3 points from China's Haoran Yang with 250.6.

Bronze went to Frantisek Smetana of the Czech Republic with 227.5.

"I think it is crazy, when I woke up today i didn’t think about a quota place," said Lindgren.

"The scores were very high in the first relay and I shot in the second, so I had nothing in my mind about being in the finals first of all,  but I did a good job and in the last five shots I had good moments. 

"In the final it was a case of just do my job and see what happens, this will take me on, it's very good."

In the men's team competition  Yang, Du Linshu and Haonan Yu won gold for China with a score of 1893.3.

Silver went to Smetana Jiri Privratsky and David Hrckulak of the Czech Republic with 1884.3.

Croatia's Petar Gosar, Miran Maricic and Josip Sikavica  took bronze with 1883.5.

In the women's 10 metre air rifle, Han also won gold at her first senior World Championships as China sealed the top two spots.

Han scored 251.4 to win gold from her compatriot Wang Zhilin with 250.2.

Mehuli Ghosh took bronze in the women's final and secured a Olympic quota place for India with a score of 229.8.

It was a second Baku success for Han who had won the ISSF World Cup event here earlier this year.

Ghosh did help her Indian teammates Tilottama Sen and Ramita Ramita to gold with a score of 1895.9.

Han and Wang joined Zhang Qiongyue to bring China silver with 1893.7.

Bronze went to Germany's Larrisa Weindorf,  Anna Janssen and Lisa Mueller with 1887.5.
