Lin Yi-Chun of Chinese Taipei has won gold in the women's trap in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships here.

Lin held her nerve to finish with the gold medal and an Olympic quota place for Paris with 40 hits.

Jessica Rossi of Italy missed her first two targets in the final series and ended with 39 and silver.

Kathrin Murche of Germany claimed bronze with 28.

Wu Cuicui of China finished fourth with a score 22 but had the consolation of securing a quota place.

Lin had started shooting aged 16 and had won double trap gold at the 2002 ISSF World Championships in Lahti.

"Shooting is my life," she admitted.

"I will take it step by step and enjoy the shooting, I feel younger now although I am older."

"Now I have won everything, this medal is in my collection.

"I don't look at the results until I finish but when my friends said 'bravo,' I knew I had the gold."

Giovanni Pellielo of Italy was sixth with 18 hits but earned a quota place for Italy.
