People's Marathon launched to protest over London 2012 changes

London_Marathon_massNovember 18 - Plans have been unveiled to launch a "People's Marathon" to protest at the decision of London 2012 to move the Olympic races away from the East End and hold them around the centre of the capital, finishing down The Mall, rather than in the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

British London 2012 hopefuls to receive free hotel rooms

Holiday Inn logoNovember 16 - Hotel chain Holiday Inn have today introduced a programme offering 1,500 free nights to 50 emerging and established British athletes including Olympic champions such Rebecca Adlington, Tim Brabants, Victoria Pendleton and Christine Ohuruogu as they prepare for the London 2012 Games.


Robertson launches new £135 million London 2012 legacy scheme

Games_People_Play_logoNovember 15 - Sports Minister Hugh Robertson has revealed his delight at unveiling a new London 2012 mass participation legacy programme here at Little Venice Sports Centre here today which sees £135 million ($217 million) of National Lottery money invested which, he claims, will create a tangible legacy from the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
