September 19 - Confusion surrounds the election of Loughborough University graduate Sani Ndanusa as the new President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) with claims that the process is illegal and the results have been not recognised by the international Olympic Committee (IOC).




Kuwait suspended by IOC

January 7 - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended Kuwait's Olympic Committee (KOC)  because of alleged political interference by the Government, they have announced.


Ghana ordered to hold new Olympic elections

December 9 - Ghana's Olympic Committee, who elected Francis Dodoo (pictured) as its new President in June, has been ordered to hold fresh elections within six months following a critical review by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
