Coe: We had to keep our nerve despite Doha "inducements"

ed warner_11-11-111November 11 - London's 2017 world championship bidders revealed in their presentation to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Council here that they would match the guarantee made by their rivals, Doha, to cover the prize fund of $7.2 million (£4.5 million/€5.3 million) for athletes at the event.








Geoffrey Mutai wins New York City Marathon to complete record-breaking year

Geoffrey Mutai_wins_New_York_City_Marathon_November_6_2011November 6 – Geoffrey Mutai, who produced the fastest marathon ever at Boston earlier this year, albeit that the non-looped nature of that course rules it out for record purposes, underlined his standing as Kenya's top performer by winning the ING New York Marathon in 2 hours 5min 06sec, taking more than two minutes off the course record.
